I See What You Mean – By Lawrence Argent

If you arrived at work tomorrow morning to find the eye of a giant blue bear peering back at you from your sheet glass window, you too might be compelled to consider what; in fact, Argent intends this work to mean. Stepping over the fine line between nature and technology, public and private space, Argent’s nosy creature was created for Denver, Colorado’s Office of Public Affairs. At forty feet tall, Argent’s bear encourages a dialogue about the meaning of art and the viewer’s ability to confront a work head-on in an attempt at shared vision.

Rooster – By Mike Flanagan

Mike Flanagan’s “Rooster” pluckily strolls along, showing off his colorful tail feathers. Carefully carved, “Rooster” combines the down-home simplicity of country life (note the partially nibbled husk of corn at his feet) with the striking colors and natural beauty of the West.

Rocky Mountain Elk – By Mike Flanagan

Mike Flanagan’s love for the American West is embodied in this life-size sculpture of the Rocky Mountain Elk. Standing proudly atop a rocky base, the elk seems to be waiting for action, regally displaying his sturdy horns. Highly rendered in bronze, the strong artisanship of Flangan’s work reflects the power and beauty of the frontier.

Whitetail Fawn – By Mike Flanagan

Mike Flanagan’s sculpture depicts two fawns in states of childlike satisfaction. One, seated, gazes dreamily out into the wild while the other moves towards its sibling on wobbly legs, exploring its new family. Cast in bronze with detailed coloring, this pair is an exceptional example of Flanagan’s ability to embody his love of nature through his art.

Thunder in the Plains – By Mike Flanagan

Mike Flanagan captures the boldness of the West in his life-size bronze sculpture of the American Bison. Captivated by the frontier and the cowboy way of life, Flanagan’s work joins the intimate details of this symbolic creature with the grandeur of monumental sculpture. At six feet tall and over nine feet long, “Thunder In the Plains” invites the viewer to come face to face with a wonder of the American West.
